The World Chess Federation (FIDE) President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov (also the President of Republic of Kalmykia, Russia ) will be making a short courtesy visit to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the 27th August 2010 and he will be accompanied by FIDE General Secretary Mr Ignatius Leong and Mr. Berik Balgabaev.

Kuala Lumpur is the 2010 MAKSAK Champion !
Kuala Lumpur win the 2010 Majlis Sukan dan Kebajikan Anggota-Anggota Kerajaan (MAKSAK) Championship. The team event was held from 6 - 8 August 2010 at the Puteri Park Hotel Kuala Lumpur.
It have been quite some time since KL win this event and this time they did it convincingly by beating their arch rivals - Terengganu and Sarawak both with 3-1 score.
Second place goes to Terengganu followed by Sarawak and Pahang respectively.
